Mapex Pro M (floor toms are on individual legs)

<Leaning more towards this based on price and what other ppl on the forums have said about them>

ddrum Dominion ash

Pearl vision
http://drums-percussion.musiciansfriend.co...-Set?sku=502356

Mapex Pro M (floor toms tom stand mounted)
http://drums-percussion.musiciansfriend.co...Drum?sku=483377

Tama Starworks (i can try this one out, but may be a little pricey)
http://drums-percussion.musiciansfriend.co...ack-?sku=583034

I may be getting a new kit for xmas rolleyes.gif, and i need help deciding...
I really like the "1 up, 2 down" tom setup, so these seem like good choices.
My budget is under $1000.

-Also i was wondering if they still give away that Black Panther snare with the first Mapex kit written above.
THANKS!
-m0nkey

(Sets with more toms and stuff are good too! I just dont want the standard 2 up, 1 down setup

Can't help you much in terms of which kit is better but I personally like that Tama Starworks one. It's got a sweet finish and a custom bass drum reso head. biggrin.gif

The 3 kits r really different u r looking at maple, ash and birch it all depends on what sound u r looking for and the configuration u feel more comfortable with, same goes for hardware, mounting system etc...
Im a big fan of Mapex, Dddrum not so much (I heard some yrs ago about shell construction problems) and well Tama is a renown drum company so its all up to u
If it was me I'll be btw the Mapex and Tama (full maple kit w mounted toms) or Tama 5 piece (1 rack tom)

I have seen te starworks in persons and please do not buy them they look like crap and cheap in person if you want a tama kit get the 499 hyperdrives that are on sale with the free timbales!!! Or with hardware 699! I have played both the Pro M and the Ddrum they will be nice the Ddrum comes with the nickel hardware like the hyperdrives!! And of course the Pro m's are awsome !!!
