QUOTE (abacacus @ Sep 27 2008, 06:36 AM) not sure what band he's in now, but mine is vinnie coaliuta. At the moment he's in a bit of a fusion supergroup with Chick Corea and John McLaughlin called "The 5 Peace Band". I will have the pleasure of seeing them perform live in February. And my favourite drummer is John Bonham from Led Zeppelin. Massive influence and a man with an incredible drummer's spirit.

My favourite drummer has always been Clem Burke of Blondie, one of the reasons I started playing Premier drums all those years ago.

I like Virgil Donati since my drum teacher (who is also awesome) goes on and on about his teachings to him (Virgil used to teach my teacher).
Also, Phil Collins, to drum is one thing, to sing and hold a beat at the same time is another.
Lastly, Roger Taylor, drummer of Queen. He also sings, many of Queen's high notes, and I like his siginiture sound (opening the hi-hat slightly on the back beat, usually on the snare hit, for back-beat emphisis.).
Oh and my private lessons teacher who I mentioned above. I showed my school drums teacher the a Drum Solo bit sheet music from 'Under Pressure' and he straight off said it's too hard for you. And he wasted the lesson repeating that. I took the sheet music to my private lessons teacher Anthony, and I learnt the whole thing perfectly in two weeks. How's that?
What inspires you to pick up your sticks week after week, year after year??

I'm under the impression that you're under the impression of impression drugs. Is that correct sir?
