Yeah, it also helps when you go to your local music store and need to ask em some questions. That's the primary reason we put this video together. I remember the first time I tried to ask for new "drum heads"... but didn't know what they were called. I must have sounded like an idiot trying to explain what I wanted smile.gif.

Hi all new to the forum and looking forward to starting my new venture, anyway, here goes with my question, because of where i live i have bought an electronic kit ,nothing special at all but it will get me going, the thing is while watching the Drum Related Terms video i have realized that my kit does not have a ride cymbal, it has a high hat and 2 crash cymbals (ya see i now know what some parts of a drum kit are called rolleyes.gif ) so do i need a ride cymbal right now or can i get by without one, thanks.

If you have an E-kit, any pad can be anyting. You may, or may not, be able to choke it or play the bell, but you can set the module to make one of your crash cymbals sound like a ride.

Welcome to FDL!

Yes, you should be able to set one of them as a ride (usually the right one)

Hey Jared...

Loved the Tim Hortons coffee on the floor under your seat in the video...seems kind of a waste when your playing...can't drink and play at the same time...

Get yourself a camel pack or even better, an IV drip...works much better...haha
Cheers
