Great lesson. Here is a warmup that I do. Play with your feet. Once you get comfortable with just the feet you can add in patterns with the hands. Just start with straight singles with the hands. Or you can play along with the feet in the same groups.

YIKES how fast are you playing the last line at? Not too fast...whatever feels comfortable...it's more to get your muscles used to playing in larger groups. Just a warmup exercise...It's not musical at all really....Unless you play some really weird music. -------------------- |

and try not to mess around to much going at high tempos for fun IF you cant do it, you get bad habits that you'll have to relearn the right way
and almost anything you can do with your hands (rudiments) you can do with your feet, makes you have a better sense of control! |

I was wondering is there any exercise routine you could do everyday to build better leg muscle for speeds double bass? - Carl Ghazarian |

I am having trouble with not having enough things to practice... and it shows when I play songs now for some reason that I'm using double bass more... before when I was only using it once a month or so those few times where so impressive...
any tips on how to cool my jets on speed and play in time also... -------------------- Never Back Down!

I use double pedals for double bass instead of using two double bass drums. Simply because of the expenses of a 2nd drum, and its space consuming. Thats what i prefer =]

Hey ah, not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, but for the 2nd exercise, the sheet music is incorrect. It doesn't have a continuous 8th note going on the ride, it has 1 + ..... 3 + ..... instead of 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + .
