Yeah I am looking for songo music. Not being familiar with Cuban music I don't even know where to start??? Any Cubans out there smile.gif

Michel Camilo - Caribe. The whole middle bit is songo, spread around the drums.

A beast at Songo is Horacio Hernandez. "El Negro" plays songo while doing claves with his spare foot. It's amazing. blink.gif

yeh true el negro es un animal. Also look up for "los van van" .Cuban band. they play the Songo rythm with feeling.You'll spot the songo feel in the slower tempo songs that they play mellow.gif

I've been having a look at the songo beats I like the music by Carlos Santana not sure if he falls into this type of music, more south American. his Samba pa ti is a great piece of music luv all the percussion in his live shows.

I love this pattern. When I first learned this style it really helped me in my rock playing with the independence and creativity.

I totally agree...Hey Lionel I remember when I was in lessons with you and you got me to learn the Gadd mozambique both right and left hand lead...that was super helpful as well smile.gif
