Dude i love Punk and i loved the Beats but you should consider a punk beats 2 with more complex beats. It helped me alot but it was pretty basic and you are an awesome drummer by the way.

Well he laid down the foundation of the beats after mastering those you can naturally see what else you can do with those patterns to make them more creative. But punk beats are pretty conservative they work and give guitar players a nice sense of time to write songs and inprov

Peace

Those beats are pretty sweet! But I think those beats only cover more of a punk-pop style of drumming. You should also make a video covering the punk-hardcore style of drumming, that includes blast beats and gravity rolls! D= Drag

like this:

H| X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X
S| D X D X D
B| X XX X XX X

In the BDS dvd does it show it how you can get that fast on a single pedal?

It's all practice, i can go that fast and i've never even smelled the BDS. I do use heel-toe, though, which is amongst what the BDS teaches. Try a few youtube vids on heel-toe to get the hang of it. It's really great for bassdrum doubles. I might even go so far as to say that it's the best technique for fast kick doubles, but that's just my opinion.

And if you can't figure out from the youtube vids (i've understood a lot of people don't), just make a thread. We're always lad to help. smile.gif

He uses heel-toe on exercises 5 and 6, and that is taught on the BDS. But you don't need heel-toe to play that fast.

Yes, it's heel toe on the last exercises. I also teach this in the BDS DVD if your interested. There are tutorials and examples of how to do this on Youtube....From what I have seen they are great, but not as in depth as the DVD.

Yeh some of the examples are pretty good, but they actually use their heel then their toe.

From what i've heard Jared, you teach people to use the same rocking motion, but using the ball of their foot instead of the heel.

In the drum lessons what hi-hats does he use. On the punk drum beats the hi-hats sound really good when he plays them half-open.

Are you able to get the bass 16ths up to tempo, and stay clean and on time with them?
