Hi All,

I've been working my way through the "Rock Drumming Lessons" and I think I've spotted an error with the sheet music for the "Funk Drum Beats", in exercise 1 on beats "3 and, 4 and" the sheet music shows hi-hat strokes however Jared plays these as ride symbal strokes???, he only plays the hi-hat (open) on the "a" of 2.

Just thought I'd let you guys know so you can change the sheet music to avoid confusion!

Hey I'm good at spotting these errors, I spotted that error with the "How To Count Rests" lesson...you said in your last post in reply to me about that you'd look at it....did you see the error?

Regards,

David Avery.

yes i was just gonna ask about the sheet music.
I actually practiced it wrong for 30 min, playing how the sheet music is written, using the left hand to play the hi hat on 3&4&. it was fun!

is there usually a + to specify which hi hat stroke is closed after the open?

thanks jarod. these are really great videos.

josh

Hi Jared, there's an error on the sheet music of Funk Drum Beats. There is a confusion between the video and the sheet music. on the first exercice, in the video, you are playing on the ride, doing a nice trick on the hi-hat and playing the ride to the end of the measure. Look the sheet music.

after doing the trick with the hi-hat, the sheet music says to play on the hi-hat. In the video you play on the ride.
I saw some others videos with some errors in the sheet music (I don't remember the lessons sad.gif ).
I hope the problem will be fixed! My English is not very good, i hope you understand the problem.

See you next time!
