I bought the Meinl MCS pack, got them today and put them on, didn't mess around them too much, but the little I did I'm really liking them, especially the hats. I never did put the China on, I started running out of wingnuts. blink.gif Not really sure how that happened, I ended up taking pieces off extra stands just to use the crash and ride. lol

Anyway, had to share my excitement with someone. tongue.gif

Also, pay no attention to the mess in the back. They're aren't any bodies back there, honest.

Are you sure? I think I saw one of them move. laugh.gif
Do you play your kit with the toms in those positions? blink.gif

Yeah.
I absolutely hate the tom mountings, I want to punch the person who came up with it in the throat, repeatedly. If you turn them at an angle facing you, they're kinda shaky and can fall off. Later on I may try to move them around, but for now I got tired of fooling with them and put them even.

They're actually not too hard to play with.

I would suggest moving the toms in togther and bringing the cymbals in more. I know the mounting system sucks, but trust me its better. You'll thank me when u dont get back and arm problems.

So if you raise the posts coming out of the bass drum and turn them (nearly 90 degrees) so the tom arms are pointed at you, that doesn't work? It would get them a lot closer together for you. That's the usual way they are placed and tilted. Just a thought...

I had a similar problem with my mounts. My mid-tom started to give out really bad (the heads and the mount), so I just took it off and placed the high tom really low down, just to the left of my bass. I had to flip the tom arm to get it out far enough, but it sits almost level and it's really comfortable.

For every fifty words I type, I have to correct twelve typos. I corrected thirteen typing this.

I don't actually have the set or cymbals that I want. I just put my favorites.

If nothing else, save up and look on craigslist for some racks...

I like the finish on the kit.

Congrats on the cymbals! Like others have said before try to get those toms in a better position. I would suggest going with ths stand since you have the right mounts. Tom Stand You can set the up just to the left of your kick.
