In this lesson, me and Dave will be discussing different hand to feet combinations, and how to apply them around the kit. Dave will be handling all the double bass drum hand to feet combos and I will be using a single pedal.

I can't think of any questions concerning the topic. Though I am waiting for the .pdf (assuming there is one this week).

Also, I'm not writing the lesson until I hear all your ideas...Once I get a basic idea of what you want to learn , then I can structure and build the lesson.

I'd like to see some rudiment kick/hand work, like a paradiddle: H F H H F H F F.
You get the idea! smile.gif

I'd like to see some of the more technical rudiments like this smile.gif

It could really get some limb independence going on, imaging doing paradiddles with the right foot (kick) and left hand (snare), comping 4ths on the hihat and straight 8ths on the ride with the left hand

EDIT: man, I really got inspired now!
Thanks Jared for bringing this to my head! laugh.gif

This sounds interesting!

DRUM TABS
S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S
RI||--x---x-x-x---x---x-x-x---x---x---|----||
HH||--x-------x-------x-------x-------|----||
SN||----g-----x---g-g---g-----x---g-x-|----||
BD||--x---x-x---x-----x---x-x---x-----|----||

All 16ths between two columns

What about some "oddball" fills or something? Things a little different than regular fills? Not sure, just throwing it out there as someone who struggles with Fills smile.gif Cheers.

Going off dalleh's and anadeau, I was reminded of a thing I've been trying.

I'm trying to get my independence up by switching the sync of my feet to my hands. So say if I'm just doing singles, working on my wrists, I typically try to keep pace (or faster) with my feet. Instead of my right foot leading with my right hand lead, I'm trying to lead with left foot while leading with my right hand. I can only go so far before my feet some how magically switch back to syncing up with the other hand. Maybe some tips here that I may be missing.

Basic example...switch to doubles or triplets when singles get boring.
DRUM TABS
Snare: R L R L R L R L
Bass: L R L R L R L R

no matter how slow I take it, no matter how much I think of it, they always line up at some point. Kinda annoying.

Talk about that fill you do at 1:32 in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-k_Oq8Z-RE. It's really awesome ;D I can do it slowly but not up to your speeds. That's just a basic hand-foot combo and an application around the kit

You could also talk about the samba beat with paradiddles or single strokes on top. I can almost get this D:
DRUM TABS
RH|x-xx-x--x-xx-x--|
LH|-x--x-xx-x--x-xx|
RF|x--xx--xx--xx--x|
LF|--x---x---x---x-|

Dunno if that really counts as a handfoot combination but it's still fun to learn.

I won't be able to join the live lesson because it's on a Wednesday 8 AM for me and I have school sad.gif Hope you can change to the weekends soon ;]
