Good catch, I was thinking something wasn't right as I was idly reading the above smile.gif Maybe a mod could split this discussion off into its own thread and restore peace to the "seven stroke roll" thread biggrin.gif

Give it some respect, people. It's stuck in the middle of all the other Stroke Rolls you know. Can't be easy having to put up with Nine Stroke Roll's hand-me-downs and all that lip from its shorter brothers and sisters. laugh.gif

I love all the double stroke rolls, especially using them within simple 4/4 beats.
An example of the 7 stroke roll in a 4/4 beat:
DRUM TABS
HH|o-o-o-o-----o---|
S|----o--ooooo-ddd|
B|o---------------|

It doesn't look like a 7 stroke roll but if you play another bar after this one, then you'll see how it becomes a 7 stroke roll.

Neat

Yeah i know
My drum teacher lent me this big ol' book full of everything from reading notation to rock drumming to jazz and everything else, and it had like rock beats with single stroke breaks and double stroke breaks. It has a tonne of neat little beats and fills in it, that's where i got that beat from.
