I followed the steps as instructed in the video, but I don't get very good tone from it, anyone else have that problem? I've found that you can get different tones from turning your snares on and off or depending where you place the butt end of the stick on the batter head. Play around with it and see what happens. -------------------- Life is good. |

try to hold down the tip firmly on the drumhead and try not to let it move when striking. move up and down along your stick to get different pitches and such

Also the size sticks you use make a big difference too. Lighter weight sticks sound kind of whimpy when doing cross sticking. Some of the larger sticks even sound good without flipping them around.

I use the position right above a lug, using the butt of the stick as a pivot point, cupping my hand over the stick while pinching it to hold it, and within an inch where the stick shoulder begins to taper down is where I perform it. It's a nice sound.

I had a question.
How do you turn the stick around if you are switching between cross-sticking and normal strokes with each hit?I keep losing the stick. Anyone knows a good way? Thanks -------------------- Statement of purpose: I'm going to make a flying suite. Iron Man!
